Fossil Butte
Fossil Butte National Monument is a hill that these fossils were initially found. Besides little fish like I found there were large fish such as gars and rays as well as fresh water crocodiles and turtles.
I am a retired civil engineer turned amateur paleontologist and rockhound, and grandfather of 6 junior (& prospective) fossil and rock collectors. I spend much of my time bringing the joys of my hobbies to elementary school children through after school enrichment classes and presentations with my rock club's education team.
